Image Use
Photos/images contained on the GSMHike.org web site are made available according to the guidelines below.
Personal Usage
- Personal photos/images are for the private use of a person; it does not include any public display of photos/images.
- Examples of proper personal usage include personal screen savers, prints for use in a persons dwelling.
Educational Usage
- Educational products must be:
- distributed free of charge.
- used to educate the public.
- Educational use also includes using photos/images to accompany one-time articles in a daily or weekly periodicals.
- Photos/images used for educational purposes must be properly cited as shown below.
- Educational products do not include any photos/image used to advertise a company, services, or products.
Commercial Usage
- Permission must be granted to use GSMHike.org photos/images commercially.
- Commercial use includes any product that is not distributed free of charge.
- Photographers retains all rights to their photos/images.
- Permission must be requested to use each image for commercial purposes.
- It is the individual photographer's prerogative to charge a fee or allow free use of the photo/image.
- Photos/image used commercially must still be properly cited.
Citation Guidelines
- Any image from GSMHike.org must be cited in the following format:
- Photographer's name and organization, GSMHike.org.
